LIIRA Golf League Rules

13.2 “B-C1” Division

  1. All member teams will field a four man team.
  2. Each team will play a 2 man partners best ball match (Four Ball Match Play).
  3. These matches will be played over 9 holes, unless prior to commencement, both team captains agree to play less.
  4. Each team will compete without handicaps and no strokes will be given until one team is losing by two (2) holes. Once a team is losing by two (2) holes, the losing team shall receive 1/2 stroke on the subsequent hole. The losing team shall only receive 1/2 stroke per hole while they are losing by two (2) holes. If the losing team is losing by three (3) or more holes, they shall receive one stroke per hole. At the time the losing team is only one (1) hole down, no strokes will be given until such time that one of the teams is losing by two (2) holes.
  5. All players 70 years of age and older shall be permitted to tee off from the “Red Tees”.
  6. Each team will compete for MATCH POINTS as follows:
    1. Two (2) points for each of the TWO PERSON TEAMS with the most holes won.
    2. Two (2) points for the FOUR PERSON TEAM with the most holes won (combined TWO PERSON TEAM).
    3. One (1) point for TEAM TIES (TWO OR FOUR PERSON TEAMS).
    4. Total points in a team match are six (6).
  1. Scoring procedure:
    1. Each two (2) man team will keep score of their match.
    2. In the A-B1 and B-C1 divisions – record only the best ball score of each two (2) man team.
    3. In the A-B1 and B-C1 Divisions, at the end of a scheduled 9-hole match, the team with most holes won, wins 2 match points.
  2. The winning Team Captain is required to Call or E-Mail the information no later

than 12:00 noon on Wednesday or 12:00 noon on Friday (for rain days). Failure to comply will result in a forfeit (loss) for both teams.

Failure of a team to field at least TWO (2) players will constitute a forfeited match (see section 7).

If lightning begins after the match has already commenced, the teams do not have to mutually agree to walk off the course. A team can leave the match without the threat of losing the match.

Inclement weather – regardless of the weather, if Bethpage is open, you must show up and play. Rain outs will only be called if the course is closed or during a round if there is lightning before a completed match.
